14k Gold-Filled Jewelry
Our collection includes 14k yellow and white gold-filled components. Gold-filled jewelry is a 100x more gold by weight compared to gold plated jewelry. Gold filled means there is a layer of thick gold mechanically bonded to a base metal. It is made to withstand everyday wear, but gentle care will help maintain its finish.
Gold-filled components are waterproof, hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant and suitable for everyday wear. If your piece includes pearls, mother-of-pearl, or natural stones, follow the care instructions for those materials as well. For the best long-term appearance, rinse away any chlorine or salt water promptly, pat the piece dry, and avoid direct contact with perfume, lotions, cleaning products, and other harsh chemicals.
Linkette pieces are made with hypoallergenic materials, though individual sensitivities can vary.
Freshwater Pearls
No two freshwater pearls are exactly alike. Small differences in size, shape, color, texture, and luster are part of their natural beauty and are expected from piece to piece.
Pearls need gentler care than the gold-filled components around them. Put your pearl jewelry on after applying perfume, lotion, makeup, and hair products. Remove it before swimming, showering, or using household cleaners. After wearing, gently wipe the pearls with a soft, clean cloth. If needed, use a slightly damp cloth, then allow the piece to dry completely before putting it away.
Store pearl jewelry separately from pieces that could scratch it. Avoid abrasive cloths, jewelry dips, ultrasonic cleaners, and steam cleaners.
Mother-of-Pearl
Mother-of-pearl is a natural shell material prized for its soft, shifting iridescence. Variations in color, pattern, texture, and glow make each Linkette piece a little different.
To care for mother-of-pearl, keep it away from prolonged water exposure, perfume, lotion, chlorine, and harsh cleaners. Wipe it gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth when needed, then dry it with a soft cloth. Store it where it will not rub against harder jewelry, and avoid ultrasonic or steam cleaning.
Natural Gemstones
Our natural gemstone pieces, including rose quartz and amazonite, may show subtle variations in color, markings, and pattern. Those details are part of what makes each stone unique.
Protect gemstone jewelry from hard knocks, prolonged water exposure, harsh chemicals, and extreme heat. Clean it gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it before storage. When a piece contains more than one material, follow the care instructions for its most delicate component.
Cubic Zirconia
Cubic zirconia adds a bright finish to many Linkette pieces. To keep the stones sparkling, wipe away everyday buildup with a soft cloth. For a piece made only with gold-filled components and cubic zirconia, you can use a little mild soap and lukewarm water when needed. Rinse carefully and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, and take care around the settings so the stones remain secure. If your piece also contains pearls, mother-of-pearl, or natural gemstones, use the gentler care instructions above.
Adjustable Bolo Bracelets
Linkette bolo bracelets have a sliding closure so you can tailor the fit to your wrist. To adjust yours, hold the slider and move it gently along both chains. Avoid pulling sharply on one side or tugging the bracelet by its charm.
Set the bracelet to a comfortable fit that stays in place without feeling tight. Before storing it, check that the chains are lying smoothly and are free of tangles.
A Simple Everyday Routine
Put your jewelry on after getting ready, and take it off before activities that could expose it to chemicals, impact, or friction. After wearing, wipe it with a soft cloth and store each piece separately to help prevent scratches and tangles.
